REARRANGING TIP
Did you know that accessories reflect your personality? The moment someone enters your home,
they can tell instantly what kind of person you are. Make you feel uneasy? It would be like
having a psychiatrist peeking into your head without telling you. Accessories tell alot about
what you like to do, what you like to collect, where you've been, what your hobbies are, what
you do for a living, whether you have a sense of humor, whether you are informal and
laid back or whether you are formal and kind of reserved, and much, much more.
This is why they are so important. If you don't have very many accessories in a room, what
do you think that says about you? If your room is filled to capacity with all kinds of
accessories, what do you think that says about you?
Many years ago this homeowner got captivated by the "country" look and starting bringing in all kinds of
handmade arts and crafts products and scattered them around my family room and kitchen. It didn't
take long for it to begin to look "full" and even somewhat "cluttered", even though they were
well placed. Here's an example of a cluttered kitchen. Notice all the stuff on the refrigerator
held in place by magnets. Clutter! Notice all the appliances on the counter. Most are seldom
used, but just taking up space.
Recently tiring of it all, the wife began to simplify by taking alot of them away and instantly her home
took on a more modern look, just because there was more room for the eye to rest. So now, gone
for the most part, are the country arts 'n crafts and her kitchen has taken on a whole new personality, just by making
this one simple change which only involved taking off the papers and photos on the refrigerator,
putting the seldom used appliances in a cupboard, out of sight, and only leaving out the things
that she uses on a regular basis. Not only does the kitchen appear less messy, she found she is
more motivated to keep it looking clean and orderly now that the clutter has been removed.
See what a difference the elimination of a few decorative objects and other cluttering items
can make. In small areas, this can make a huge impact on the personality of the room and what
it says about the owner.
There are lots of accessories one can use to decorate a room: pillows, plants, books,
art, mirrors, clocks, shelves, family photos, vases, flowers, decorative boxes, sculptures,
candles, awards, trophies, musical instruments, decorative plates, you name it. Just make
sure that what you place around you fits your personality and lifestyle and that you don't overdo it.
To learn how to arrange all these wonderful personality driven elements into your home in a way
that enhances the room, order a copy of my ebook, Decor Secrets Revealed now. Click on

DECORATING TIP
Have you ever tried to plant an outdoor light in hard, clay soil? You know the kind of light, with the
pointed ground insert, usually made out of plastic. Well, you don't have to go hunt for your hammer,
shovel or any other type
of digging apparatus. Just fill a watering can (or bowl, if you don't have a can) with about half a
gallon of water, pour on the soil where you want to stick the light. Give it a few seconds (about 10) to
sink into the soil, then just push the insert into the ground. You can probably do it just with your
hands. The water instantly makes the ground soft and easy to work with.
BUYING TIP
Beware of Internet Misrepresentations!
I've been doing some price comparisons this week on the internet and have
seen the same products being sold at a wide variety of web sites. The prices vary tremendously,
depending on which site you visit. Well, there's nothing wrong with that. Resellers have the option
of determining their own prices.
But what disappoints me is the wide range of false MSRP figures. (For those who don't know, MSRP stands for
"Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price".) The MSRP should be the same everywhere. But I'm seeing web sites (and
I'm sure it happens at "brick & mortar" stores as well) displaying a variety of very inflated MSRPs,
in order to fool the public into thinking that they are offering HUGE discounts.
To give you an example, I found one web site offering some cookware for sale, with an MSRP listed at $499.95.
Another web site, offering the same cookware set, says the MSRP is $370.00. In actuality, the MSRP is only
$329.95. The first site then says they will sell the cookware set for $149.00, at a supposed savings of
$350.95!! Come on. The second site will sell the cookware for $139.95, at a supposed savings of $230.05.
Really! The true savings to the customer,
while very good, is not at the drastically discounted price they profess.
In another case, I saw that the selling price was slightly below my cost. But upon investigation, I discovered
that the web site offering that price had tacked on a shipping/handling charge that was 3 times higher than
it should have been. In the end the customer was being duped into believing they got an incredible deal
for the product, but actually wound up paying just as much in the end. Had they then decided to return
the product for any reason, the web site seller would have kept the inflated shipping/handling charge
and the customer would have received the lower "selling" price as a refund, thus
the seller made an unreasonable profit on the sale even though the goods were
returned to them.
Another trick I
saw being used was to offer the product at cost as a "loss leader".
That's perfectly fine. But then when the customer goes to finalize the sale, a
second product, at regular price, as been silently and automatically added to
their shopping cart. Not good.
At Decorate-Redecorate.Com, we don't employ any sales tricks or
misrepresentations. We sell the same types of decorative home products as our competitors.
But here you're not going to find inflated MSRPs and inflated shipping/handling prices that are misleading and downright untruthful. We virtually
buy at the same prices as our competitors, and we mark up a small percentage to make a profit. But
you'll never find us inflating anything, distorting the truth, making misrepresentations, or any other kind
of nonsense.
To the best of our ability, we will quote you the same MSRPs that are given to us by our distributors and
manufacturers. All prices are discounted. The final price you see when you click on a purchase link
includes shipping and handling. There is a 30-day money back guarantee on everything except the shipping
and handling charges, which are not refunded by anyone, and are minimal. So when you get ready to purchase, please consider
making your purchase here, where the figures are honest and true.
